Sheet Metal Apprenticeship
Training Center Grand Opening

Bay Area SMACNA would like to thank all who attended, planned, and spoke at the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Training Center Grand Opening in Fairfield, CA on August 16th. This new training facility is helping California's green efficiency goals and standards by training apprentices to create, manufacture, install, and maintain energy-efficient HVAC systems contributing to economic growth and a greener future.

The larger Bay Area Sheet Metal JATC has graduated 545 apprentices to journeyperson in the past 5 years, and will continue to succeed with the continued support of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 104 and Bay Area SMACNA.

Thank you to our speakers and honored guests: Congressman John Garamendi, Tim Sbranti (Deputy Chief of Staff for Congressman Eric Swalwell), John Brauer (Workforce & Economic Development Program Director, California Labor Federation), Diane Ravnik (Chief Division of Apprenticeship Standards), Mayor Harry Price (City of Fairfield), Assembly Member Jim Frazier (California’s 11th District - Fairfield/Central Solano County), Assembly Member Tim Grayson (California’s 14th District - East and North Bay), Assemblymember Catharine Baker (California’s 16th District - Tri-Valley), Senator Scott Wiener (California’s 11th District - San Francisco), and Paul Irwin (Bell Products, Inc.).
